The Legend of Cíbola
Francisco Vasquez de Coronado y Lujan followed Marcos de Niza north to Cíbola with an army of a thousand Conquistadors in 1540 across the desert from Mexico in search of Las Siete Ciudades Cibola, “the Seven Cities of Cíbola” reported to hold endless gold and treasures.
